Mirka WPF PRO Waterproof Abrasive Paper is a premium wet-sanding abrasive designed for professional automotive refinishing, paint preparation and a wide range of finishing applications. Featuring a durable waterproof paper backing and silicon carbide abrasive grain, WPF PRO delivers a fast, consistent cut while maintaining its performance during wet sanding.
Designed for manual wet sanding, Mirka WPF PRO is resistant to curling and water absorption, helping the sheet remain stable and easy to control when used with water. Its low tendency to stick or suction to the surface allows the abrasive to move smoothly across the work area, making it particularly effective for automotive paint correction and refinishing.
Benefits
- Professional-grade wet sanding abrasive for demanding finishing and preparation work.
- Silicon carbide abrasive grain provides a sharp, effective cut and consistent sanding performance.
- Long-lasting cutting performance helps maintain efficient material removal throughout the sanding process.
- Water-resistant construction helps prevent the sheet from absorbing water and losing its shape.
- Resists curling for improved control and easier handling during wet sanding.
- Low surface suction allows the abrasive to glide smoothly across the surface with less drag.
- Closed-coat abrasive surface provides consistent contact with the material being sanded.
- Ideal for automotive refinishing, including paint, primer, clear coat, body filler and lacquer.
- Versatile material compatibility – suitable for paint, plastics, composites, non-ferrous metals, plaster and putty.
- 230 x 280mm sheet size provides ample working area and can be used by hand or cut into smaller sections.

Why Choose Mirka WPF PRO?
For automotive refinishing and other applications where a smooth, controlled wet-sanding process is essential, Mirka WPF PRO combines a durable waterproof construction with a sharp silicon carbide abrasive. Its resistance to curling and water absorption, combined with smooth movement across the surface, makes it a reliable choice for professional-quality sanding and finishing.
- Select the correct grit: Choose the appropriate WPF PRO grit for the level of material removal or finishing required. Start with a coarser grit where necessary and progressively move to finer grits.
- Prepare the surface: Clean the area thoroughly to remove dirt, grease and other contamination before sanding.
- Prepare the abrasive: Soak the abrasive sheet in clean water before use. Keeping the abrasive and work surface lubricated helps reduce loading and allows the sheet to move smoothly.
- Use a sanding block where appropriate: For flat surfaces, wrap the abrasive around a suitable sanding block to provide more even pressure and minimise the risk of creating uneven sanding marks.
- Sand with controlled strokes: Use light, even pressure and overlapping strokes. Avoid excessive pressure, which can accelerate abrasive wear and create uneven results.
- Keep the surface clean: Regularly rinse the abrasive and work surface to remove sanding residue and prevent debris from becoming trapped between the abrasive and the surface.
- Check your progress: Frequently inspect the surface to determine when the desired finish has been achieved before moving to the next grit.
- Clean and dry: Once sanding is complete, thoroughly clean the surface to remove sanding residue before proceeding with the next stage of the repair or finishing process.
