All-in-One Polish & Glaze
Short on time but want a real improvement? An all-in-one polish cleans, lightly corrects and protects your paint in a single step, while a car glaze adds instant gloss and depth. Shop all-in-one (AIO) polishes and car glazes for a fast, impressive finish by machine or hand.
What Is an All-in-One Polish?
An all-in-one polish (AIO) combines three steps in one product: light cleaning, light abrasive correction and a layer of protection such as wax or sealant. It won't remove heavy defects like a dedicated compound, but it improves swirls, adds gloss and leaves protection behind in a single pass, which saves hours compared with a multi-step correction.
What Is a Car Glaze?
A car glaze is a gloss-enhancing product with fillers and oils that fill and hide fine swirls, adding depth and wet-look shine, especially on dark paint. Glazes do little or no correction, and their filling effect is temporary. They're usually topped with wax to extend the result.
AIO vs Glaze vs Polish
| Product | Corrects defects? | Protects? | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| All-in-one polish | Light correction | Yes, built in | Daily drivers, time-poor owners, pre-sale detailing |
| Car glaze | No; fills and hides | Minimal; top with wax | Show-day gloss and dark paint |
| Compound and polish | Yes, most correction | No; protect afterwards | Full paint correction before coating |
When to Use an All-in-One Polish
- Your paint has light swirls and dullness, but not deep defects.
- You want a big visual improvement in a single afternoon.
- You're preparing a car for sale.
- You maintain a daily driver and want gloss and protection together.
Planning a ceramic coating? Most coatings need bare paint, so use a dedicated polish and panel wipe instead, unless the AIO is specifically labelled as coating-compatible.
How to Apply an All-in-One Polish
- Wash and decontaminate with iron remover and clay.
- Work in the shade on cool panels.
- Apply by machine with a polishing or finishing pad on a dual action polisher, or by hand with a foam applicator.
- Work small sections in overlapping passes.
- Buff off with a clean microfibre cloth as directed.
- Top with wax if you've used a glaze, to extend the result.

All-in-One Polish & Glaze FAQs
What is an all-in-one polish?
An all-in-one polish cleans, lightly corrects and protects paint in one step. It improves light swirls and dullness and leaves a layer of wax or sealant behind, saving time compared with separate polishing and protection stages.
What does a car glaze do?
A car glaze fills and hides fine swirls and adds depth and wet-look gloss, especially on dark paint. It does little or no correction, and the effect is temporary, so it's usually topped with wax.
Is a glaze the same as wax?
No. A glaze enhances gloss and fills fine swirls but offers little protection. Wax adds a protective layer. Many people apply a glaze first, then a wax on top.
Can I use an all-in-one polish before ceramic coating?
Usually not. Most ceramic coatings need bare paint to bond, and the protection in an AIO can interfere. Use a dedicated polish and panel wipe before coating, unless the AIO is labelled as coating-compatible.
Can I apply an all-in-one polish by hand?
Yes. You'll get gloss and protection by hand, but a dual action polisher gives noticeably better swirl reduction and a more even finish.
How long does an all-in-one polish last?
Protection from an AIO typically lasts a few weeks to a few months, depending on the product, weather and washing. Topping up with a spray sealant or quick detailer helps it last longer.
Will an all-in-one polish remove scratches?
An AIO can reduce light swirls and very fine scratches. Deeper scratches need a dedicated cutting compound and polish, or may be too deep to remove.
