1. Charge the battery: Fully charge the Mirka Li-ion battery before first use. The battery should not be stored in a discharged condition.
2. Prepare the surface: Thoroughly wash, decontaminate and dry the vehicle before polishing. If required, inspect and prepare the paintwork using the appropriate abrasive process.
3. Select the polishing pad: Choose a suitable 77mm polishing pad according to the level of correction required. Use a more aggressive pad for heavier defects and a softer finishing pad for final refinement.
4. Select the compound: Choose a polishing compound appropriate for the paint condition and desired level of correction.
5. Attach the pad: Secure the polishing pad centrally to the supplied 77mm backing pad. Ensure the pad is firmly attached before operating the machine.
6. Apply compound: Apply a small amount of polishing compound to the pad. Avoid excessive product, which can reduce cutting efficiency and increase sling.
7. Set the speed: Start at a lower speed and use the stepless trigger to gradually increase speed as required for the polishing stage.
8. Work a small section: Use overlapping passes over a manageable working area. Keep the pad as flat as possible against the surface and allow the random orbital movement to perform the correction.
9. Control pressure and heat: Apply appropriate pressure for the polishing stage while keeping the machine moving. Avoid concentrating the pad on one area for too long.
10. Inspect your results: Wipe away polishing residue with a clean microfibre towel and inspect the surface under suitable lighting.

12. Clean the pad: Clean or replace the polishing pad when it becomes saturated with spent compound and residue.
