The Koch-Chemie Polishing Kit combines three of Koch Chemie’s most respected polishing compounds into a complete paint correction and finishing system. Featuring Heavy Cut H9.02, Fine Cut F6.01, and Micro Cut M3.02, this kit is designed to safely remove defects, refine paintwork and maximise gloss across a wide range of automotive paint systems.
Whether you are performing a heavy correction detail, refining softer paint, or chasing a flawless finishing result before applying a ceramic coating, this three-stage system provides a structured approach to paint correction trusted by professional detailers worldwide.
Kit Includes
Koch Chemie Heavy Cut H9.02 – Coarse polishing compound for major defect removal
Koch Chemie Fine Cut F6.01 – Medium polish for refining and moderate correction
Koch Chemie Micro Cut M3.02 – Ultra-fine finishing polish for gloss and hologram removal

The Koch-Chemie Polishing Kit is designed around a simple but highly effective principle: different paint defects require different levels of abrasive technology. Rather than relying on a single aggressive compound, this system progressively corrects and refines the paint using dedicated compounds for each stage.
This staged process helps achieve higher levels of correction, better clarity and a cleaner final finish compared to trying to achieve everything with one product.
Step 1 – Heavy Correction with Heavy Cut H9.02
Koch Chemie Heavy Cut H9.02 is the aggressive cutting stage of the system, designed to remove heavy defects such as:
- Deep swirl marks
- Wash marring
- Heavy oxidation
- Sanding marks
- Moderate scratches
Its coarse abrasive structure delivers strong correction performance while still allowing controlled polishing behaviour. H9.02 is ideal for neglected paintwork, harder paint systems and vehicles requiring significant defect removal before refinement.
While H9.02 removes major defects, heavy correction compounds can leave behind light haze or micro-marring depending on the paint system. This is where the next stage becomes critical.
Step 2 – Refinement with Fine Cut F6.01
Koch Chemie Fine Cut F6.01 bridges the gap between heavy correction and final finishing. It removes moderate defects while refining the finish left behind by more aggressive compounds.
F6.01 is commonly used to:
- Refine haze from heavy compounds
- Remove lighter swirl marks
- Improve clarity and gloss
- Perform one-step corrections on softer paints
This stage dramatically improves paint clarity and prepares the surface for final jewelling and gloss enhancement.
Step 3 – Final Finishing with Micro Cut M3.02
Koch Chemie Micro Cut M3.02 is the ultra-fine finishing stage designed to maximise gloss while removing holograms, micro-marring and ultra-fine polishing marks.
This final step is particularly important on:
- Soft paint systems
- Dark coloured vehicles
- Show cars and enthusiast vehicles
- Vehicles being prepared for ceramic coating
M3.02 produces exceptional paint clarity and depth, helping achieve a near-flawless finish before protection is applied.
After polishing, the surface can be prepared using paint preparation products before applying wax, sealant or ceramic coating protection.
How the System Works Together
The strength of this kit is not simply the individual compounds, but how they work together as a structured polishing system.
Each stage progressively improves the finish:
- H9.02 removes major defects
- F6.01 refines the correction stage and restores clarity
- M3.02 perfects the finish and maximises gloss
This approach helps reduce unnecessary polishing aggression while delivering a cleaner, more consistent final result.
Pro Tip
Do not automatically start with the most aggressive compound. Always test the least aggressive combination first. Many modern paints can achieve excellent correction with Fine Cut F6.01 alone, reducing unnecessary clear coat removal while still delivering strong results.
Reserve Heavy Cut H9.02 for defects that genuinely require additional correction power.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to use all three compounds?
Not always. The correct combination depends on paint condition and desired results. Some vehicles may only require F6.01 and M3.02.
Can beginners use this kit?
Yes, although machine polishing experience is helpful. Start conservatively and test combinations before full correction work.
Is this kit suitable for ceramic coating preparation?
Yes. The system is excellent for preparing paint before ceramic coating application.
Can these compounds be used with dual-action polishers?
Yes. All three compounds are suitable for use with dual-action polishing machines.
Step 1 – Wash & Decontaminate
- Thoroughly wash the vehicle using a quality shampoo such as Koch Chemie Gentle Snow Foam.
- Remove iron contamination using Reactive Rust Remover.
- Clay the paint if required.
- Dry the vehicle completely before polishing.
Step 2 – Heavy Correction (H9.02)
- Use Heavy Cut H9.02 with a suitable cutting pad.
- Work one section at a time using controlled machine speed and pressure.
- Inspect correction levels before moving on.
- Wipe residue using a clean microfibre towel.
Step 3 – Refinement (F6.01)
- Switch to a polishing pad.
- Use Fine Cut F6.01 to refine the finish and remove haze.
- Work methodically across each panel.
- Inspect clarity under strong lighting.
Step 4 – Final Finish (M3.02)
- Use a soft finishing pad with Micro Cut M3.02.
- Perform slower, controlled finishing passes.
- Remove residue carefully and inspect the paint under proper lighting.
- Apply your preferred protection product once complete.
