01. Are all car shampoos/washes the same?

NO. Please do not use a dish washing liquid or cheap detergent. There IS a difference; the cheap versions are strongly alkaline and will strip wax off your car leaving it unprotected, they also do not contain the lubricants that good quality car washes have in them, allowing more chance of scratching your paint. The washes on this site are all near pH neutral and will gently dislodge the dirt as you wash.

02. Are our glass cleaners safe to use on tinted windows?

Most of the glass cleaners offered are safe for tinted windows because they do not contain ammonia. Please check the full product descriptions first and if in doubt or if you have experienced problems with your tint before, always test a small area first.

03. How can I care for Microfibre cloths?

Just hand or machine wash in warm water (about 40 degrees) with ordinary laundry detergent. DO NOT use fabric softener. Then either dry outside or tumble dry on a cool setting (NEVER warm or hot) If excessively soiled, just soak in a solution of Napisan overnight, prior to washing

04. How can I clean & protect my fabric/soft top convertible roof?

“Cloth Fabric” convertible roofs are generally made of a special cloth material that has inbuilt waterproof protection & using normal detergents, washes or cleaners can harm the waterproofing. We recommend the 303 Products Convertible Fabric Roof Cleaner Kit, this provides a safe cleaner and also a cloth/fabric guard to re-seal the waterproof agent in the fabric and ensure long life.

05. How can I clean & protect my vinyl / plastic convertible roof?

This vinyl can also be damaged and cracked by using commercial / cheap detergents or washes. We recommend the 303 Products Convertible Vinyl Roof Cleaner Kit, this provides a safe but strong cleaner and also a vinyl protectant to condition, add shine and protect the roof against UV cracking, ensuring long life.

06. How do I remove tree sap from my cars paint?

As long as the sap has not dried & etched into the paint surface it usually can be removed with warm wash solution and rinsed off. However, if it has dried or hardened on the surface, you will probably have to ‘clay’ the paint surface. This can be done with any of our detailing clay bars and a suitable lubricant. See ‘how to clay’ for further information.

07. My car was washed last week and it looks a little dusty, what can I use to restore the shine?

To save some time and get your car looking great again use a quick detailing spray with a couple of microfibre cloths. This will safely and quickly remove dust and renew a shine to the surface.

08. What causes swirl marks?

Swirl marks are actually very fine scratches in the paint top or clear coat. Swirls are often caused by the use of a buffer with the wrong type of polishing pad and/or wax or polish. Automatic car washes can also cause swirls, especially on late model vehicles with clear coat paints. Another way swirl marks appear is from hand car washes that do not take adequate care or use cheap products, their chamois and cloths can contain micro abrasives, gained from falling on the ground, improper storage or old age.

09. Which part of the car should I wash first?

There is a lot of debate but the professionals’ opinion is the wheels and tyres should be washed first. This is to avoid the excessive dirt & brake dust splattering over the surrounding areas. It also allows any overspray of the harsh wheel cleaners to be washed off the bodywork after.
